On Sunday, August 3, 1997, at 8 AM The San Francisco Chronicle sponsored Tour de Peninsula '97, a 33 mile bicycle tour (with shortcuts!). A benefit for Greenbelt Alliance [people for open space], held at Sequoia High School in Redwood City, the event was sponsored by Volvo in association with Kaiser Permanente. Other sponsors listed were ABC 7 KGO television, Hotel Sofitel, Kuleto's Trattoria, KFRC, Eller Media Company, and Supershuttle. Aquafina was the official water; Honorary Chairperson was Ruben Barrales, San Mateo County Supervisor; San Francisco Chronicle Host was Mark Simon, a peninsula insider. The poster is in excellent condition, with no holes, tears, creases or dirt.
