For sale is a copy of the book ON THE ROAD WITH JOHN JAMES AUDUBON, written by husband/wife team Mary Durant and Michael Harwood. Red cloth cover the boards, gilt text/illustration decorate the spine, the end papers are illustrated with a map of the eastern half of the US, with an overlay of southeastern most Canada. This is a first edition, first printing, and is signed by both authors; illustrated with Author notes, a general index and a bird index. Approximately 6 1/4" x 9 1/4" with 638 pages.
The book is signed, obviously an intended Christmas gift; unfortunately those giving saw fit to inscribe the book to its owner close to those of the authors. The book shows normal shelf wear, corners are slightly banged, the top and bottom of the spine show wear. The binding is a little loose at the front, otherwise fairly tight, the pages are clean other than the inscription adjacent to the title page. The dust cover shows some shelf wear, light scratches on the surface, one small tear at the bottom of the spine area and lots of bends and folds along the edges. The jacket spine has some sunning.
